I have found myself inclined to create imagery in one form or another my entire life. My efforts in terms of making art are not defined by a dedication to a specific medium, but rather to a phenomenon of consciousness that repeatedly compels me, and perhaps all human beings to one extent or another, to bring resolution and coherence to any given moment of subjective experience. Put simply, I have found in a completed composition a sense of certainty or fixity that offsets discomfort created by ambiguity, even if that comfort is triggered only by the physical aspects of the piece, leaving what it may or may not communicate psychologically, socially or philosophically entirely out of the assessment and response. Creating an image is a temporary respite, if you will, from a lack of certainty. In the end though, the respite yields and I return to make something more. So it is the lot of Sisyphus for the artist as I see it.
